It finally rained in Texas! And it was a really good storm, too. I curled up on the sofa with the dogs at my feet and watched Torchwood: Miracle Day while reading Runner's World.

Reboot!
I can't seem to keep this up, can I? I'm about to kick my own ass. I've been pretty tied up in daily doings, and dealing with work. This weekend was Dork's first high school football game. She's in the band and got to march on a real football field for the first time- very exciting. What was NOT exciting was the fact that it was 106-degrees out, and being on the visitors' side sucked. Not a lick of shade unless you were under the stands. We won, but Hubster and I left with 5 minutes left to go in the game. I was suffering heat exhaustion and just had to go home.
I have been running, and attempting to watch what I eat. Still hard to kick the soda habit, but I'm working on it. I've rocking the ice water right now, but I've had a few cans of the Coke Zero today already. Since I'm still recovering from this weekend, though, I haven't been that hungry so I've had tropical trail mix and animal crackers to eat. I just don't want anything heavy. I'll find out what Hubster is cooking tonight when I get home from work.
Dork has also decided to get back into soccer. She's joined the freshmen girls' team. It is not so much a team as a PE class that works on soccer skills. We still have to go pick up her cleats and gear. Just waiting on the payday to roll around. Plus her coach is working out a deal with a local soccer store that is putting together a package specifically for their high school. That will be nice, honestly. She needs a sport to play, and she always enjoyed soccer. She went running with me Saturday morning (don't worry- it was only like 95-degrees out) and did pretty well. She needs a little work, but she's getting there.
Work- ah, where do I begin? I found out the promotion I was told I was put in for was never submitted. It's only been... what, 8 months? To say I'm pissed is putting it mildly, especially since they were modeling one of the restructured positions (that they said was ultimately denied) on the tasks I do on a daily basis. I'm meeting with our HR rep and our manager either this week or next week to figure out just WTF is going on. I'm told one thing, our director has been told another, and HR is clueless. Joy.
I'll figure out how to make myself keep this blog up. Maybe find a Blogger app since I always have my phone with me? I dunno.
